Refreshing the Community

Category: Uncategorized

Author: Rick Halbardier, Plant Operations Director

As spring arrives, our team turns its attention to one of the most visible parts of our community: landscaping. Beautiful grounds do not happen by chance. They come from thoughtful planning, seasonal preparation, and steady attention to detail.

After winter, I take a proactive approach to refreshing our outdoor spaces. My goal is to keep them visually appealing, safe, and enjoyable for residents. As the Plant Operations Director at The Gardens at Arkanshire Senior Living, I focus on the steps that help our community look its best each spring.

Preparing for the Season

For the annual spring refresh, my team evaluates every area of the community. We look for seasonal maintenance needs and work to complete all projects by Mother’s Day weekend each year.

This timing helps the community look its best as residents and families gather for spring and summer. Seasonal enhancements include spring flower planting, pressure washing, and preparing water features for operation.

One major seasonal project currently underway is the rebuild and cleaning of our front waterfall. We are preparing it for our spring kickoff. The project is scheduled for completion by Friday, May 8, 2026.

Our well-trained team brings strong experience to each seasonal transition. They efficiently manage startup and shutdown procedures for the community’s operational systems each year.

During spring startup, we often address dirt and grime buildup throughout the property. Our team hot pressure washes all hard surfaces to give the community a clean, refreshed appearance.

Looking Ahead

After two years of extensive interior and exterior renovations, we are excited to return to a more routine maintenance schedule. These renovations also included upgrades to many internal systems.

We look forward to enjoying a refreshed and revitalized community throughout the spring and summer of 2027.

It is easy to see the finished product, but real success comes from teamwork. Coordination, accountability, and pride help bring each project together. These efforts ensure The Gardens at Arkanshire Senior Living continues to meet the standards residents expect while setting the tone for the months ahead.
