One of the most valuable resources in any organization is not found in a report or spreadsheet. It is found in the feedback we receive from our team members. Employees are on the front lines every day. Because of that, they have unique insight into what is working well and where we can improve.
At The Gardens at Arkanshire, creating a culture where employees feel heard matters deeply. It helps improve retention, strengthen engagement, and support informed business decisions.
When employees know their opinions matter, they are more likely to feel valued and respected. They are also more likely to stay engaged in their work, take ownership, and remain committed.
Employees who believe their voices are heard are more likely to stay. This can reduce turnover and help create a stable, positive workplace culture.

At The Gardens at Arkanshire, recognition and celebrations help support a positive workplace culture. These moments show team members that their work matters and their efforts are appreciated.
Recognition does not have to be complicated to make an impact. A simple thank-you, a shared celebration, or a moment of appreciation can help employees feel seen.
Celebrations also help bring the team together. They create opportunities for connection, joy, and encouragement during the workday.
Together, these efforts help build a workplace where team members feel valued, supported, and connected to the community.
Collecting feedback is only the first step. The real impact comes from taking action. Regular one-on-one conversations give team members a place to share their thoughts.
The annual Great Place to Work® Survey also provides helpful insight. By reviewing those results and following up consistently, we can better understand what employees need. We can also turn feedback into meaningful improvements.
I believe transparency builds trust. Even when every suggestion cannot be implemented, communication matters. It is important to explain the “why” behind decisions and speak openly with the team.
This time of year is when we begin planning for our 2027 Business Plan. I am excited to use employee feedback to help shape that plan. Their ideas will help us continue going far together as a team in 2027.
Every suggestion, concern, and idea is an opportunity to improve. Feedback helps us strengthen our workplace, support retention, and better serve our residents and team members.
As Business Operations Director at The Gardens at Arkanshire, my goal is simple: Listen intentionally. Respond thoughtfully. Act consistently.
